Small Business Internet Marketing FAQ
Q: Where can I find out what all the internet marketing acronyms mean?
A: Check-out our Small Business Internet Marketing Definitions page.
Q: Can I do all the internet marketing work on my site by myself?
A: Sure. We’re developing training materials to help intrepid small business owners do it themselves. Keep in mind there’s a learning curve. And, you want to make sure you stay in the Whitehat camp.
Q: I hired a website company to design, set-up, and maintain my business website. It looks good. Isn’t that enough to get my web site found?
A: It may be…if they did everything right. But, if you did not pay them specifically to optimize your site, it likely was not optimized…and is virtually hidden from customers. Check with them to find out. And, while your at it, ask them why they didn’t provide this valuable service in the first place. If you get no where with them, give us a call. We’ll be glad to assist.
Q: Do you guarantee my website will get on page one of the search engines results pages?
A: No. And, you should run from anyone who does. It’s probably a scam. We’ve gotten webpages ranking on Page 1 of Google and others many times over. But, we stop short of guaranteeing it.
Q: You offer several services. How do I decide which one I should go with or do first?
A: Start with the basics…and build from there. Let’s get your site optimized for the search engines and visitors first, then work on key things to do to drive traffic to your site.
Q: How long does it take a website that’s been optimized to start getting visitor traffic?
A: That depends. By paying for traffic, you can see immediate results. But, you have to pay for each visitor, and it can get expensive. While paid traffic has its place, every site should be optimized to pull in organic traffic (traffic from search engines and other places). A freshly optimized site can take three months or more to show traffic results. But, we typically see results much sooner using our Secret Sauce strategy.
Q: I heard a lot of people search for local businesses using their cell phones. How can make sure my business shows up when people search for my estate planning service?
A: Great question. In the last year or so, the number of searches for local businesses has skyrocketed. There is a very strategic thing you want to have in place to be able to capture the lion-share of local searches for the service you offer. Contact us, and we’ll get you set-up.
